This morning I am off to take the Glucose Challenge Test. It tests for gestational diabetes. I like the way they call it a challenge. It makes it seem so much more exciting. I'm hoping that I'll be pitted against other pregnant ladies and that we will have to compete to see who can consume the most glucose.
Actually, it's one of the few tests during this pregnancy that hasn't left me anxious and sweaty. I'm feeling fairly confident, in an annoyingly smug, self-satisfied way, that I've got blood sugar under control. They are testing for iron levels too, and while I am much less confident about that I don't seem to have any of the symptoms of anemia. Which is good.
