Petite has taken over the reins at MichiGirl.com.au for the time being, photographing a new item everyday that may be of interest to Melbourne or Sydney consumers. There are apparently 1200 people on the database already, who received the daily email.
This particular consumer was happy to make short work of Tuesday's entry, once it had been photographed on our table.
I suspect it is going to be a costly venture for Petite / Michi girl. I admired this shirt when it arrived via email on Wednesday. I admired it in a more close up way when Petite / Michi girl came home wearing it that evening.
I don't only appear when you're feeling anxious, you know. I might have good news once in a while.
Do you have any today?
No, it's just about the anxieties today, sorry.
Well, let's get on with it then.
So, when are you going to stop reading and actually start writing that paper?
This weekend, I swear. I'm going to write a rough draft.
Do you think you can remember how to write an academic paper?
Oh yeah, no worries. It'll be fine. I'm sure I'll remember once I get started.
What about this comic strip thing? Are you seriously considering adding a comic strip to an academic paper?
That I'm not so sure about.
I knew I'd get there eventually.
Do you think it's a dumb idea?
Well, it's certainly an unconventional approach.
But the paper is about visual materials in blogs and this is a major part of my own blog, so using the comic format for part of the paper seems relevant.
No one else does it.
They might. Or they might in the future. Scott McCloud presents theoretical material in a comic format and it works really well.
Yes, but he's a comic artist. He knows the language of comics. And you're....
I hadn't seen the small round woman with the small round dog in the morning since the daisy bush incident. It's light now in the mornings, and there are leaves on the trees. I love the new oak leaves - they are such a great shade of green and they look so soft and tasty - it's all I can do to resist nibbling on the lower ones as I walk beneath them.
So I saw her this morning, the round woman, in the usual spot, sans daisy bush but avec small dog. She also had a small round child with her. Probably a grandchild. I felt quite relieved.
And now I'm off to RMIT to see if the Sensei can help me figure out, once and for all, how to get library items to function properly in Dreamweaver templates.
Petite and I went to look at the Experimenta exhibition on Friday night. It's on until October three and is definitely worth visiting, if you happen to be a Melburnian. We particularly liked the couch that growled when you sat on it, but began to purr if you stroked it. We also enjoyed the rug where the patterns moved away from your feet when you stepped on it.
I would have liked to have a go on the digital rocking horse, which you used to rock your way through a digital landscape. However, there was a guy on the horse when I arrived who showed no intention of ever getting off. He seemed to be rocking his way into infinity.
